We encourage out-of-town participants for the Yoga Teacher Training or Immersion to stay on South Padre Island.

The island is beautiful throughout all seasons and there are many hotels, AirBnbs, Vrbos, vacation stays available year-round for any out-of-town participants. We have intentionally set up the trainings on weekends but do encourage participants to take an extra day or week off to enjoy and relax on the beach, surf and take part in all the island has to offer.

Yoga Teacher Training Total is $3300 USD. We will collect payments only after we have received your application and you have been accepted officially into the program. Once you are accepted you may make payments to either Yoga Illumined (sumukhidevi.com), Laguna Madre Yoga (lagunamadreyoga.com) or Terra Volz. We accept credit card, check, debit and payment plans which must be paid in full up to 12 months from the start of the program (November 2022 - October 2023).

• A non-refundable down Payment of $360 for the Yoga Teacher training is due upon acceptance into the program.

• Flexible payment plans - monthly installments of $245 for 12 months after registration fee payment

• Fees are non-refundable.

Yoga Illumined Yoga Teacher Training Required Texts:

2. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali by Ramamurti S. Mishra, M.D. / Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati

   The above two texts can be purchased online via anandabookstore.com: AshramStore.com (anandabookstore.com) or can be found online. You may also bring copies of the Yoga Sutras from various translators but we will be chanting the sutras in Sanskrit and reviewing translations together in class.

The Yoga Illumined Teacher Training is designed to provide all participants with the foundations of Yoga in order to teach and share the practice with others. Participants who complete all 200 hours // 185 classroom hours with Sumukhi (Kristina Lanuza), Aziza Charlotte Barker, Terra Lee Campise Volz and Special Guest Teachers along with 15 Hours of individual study will be granted a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate that is honored by Yoga Alliance.

Pre-requisites

• On-going, current practice of yoga

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Responsible and respectful of others

• If you are not either a current student of Laguna Madre Yoga nor taking classes with any of the lead trainers, an Interview on Zoom/online or in person by lead teachers - Sumukhi, Aziza and Terra - is required.

If you have questions about whether or not you should apply here are some guidelines:

• If you are currently suffering or have been diagnosed with any physical or mental illnesses that would prevent you from fully participating in movements or interactions with fellow participants, we do not recommend applying to the Teacher Training program.

• For those in recovery from addictions, confer with your sponsor prior to applying and please disclose treatment/prognosis in the application (all information is confidential).

• People come to yoga because of its numerous physical, mental, spiritual and health benefits. We will only accept participants into the Yoga Teacher Training who have a strong, knowledgeable sense of self and personal boundaries as we are not equipped to work with those with extreme physical or mental health issues.

• The Immersion part of the Training which does not require an application as no certificates will be granted may be something to consider for those who simply wish to deepen their understanding and practice of Yoga.
